Claim: In Bergen County, NJ election officials fraudulently awarded more votes to Governor Phil Murphy after all votes were counted.
The early vote numbers from New Jersey’s election only reported votes cast in-person at the polls on Election Day and did not include the counts from early voting ballots, mail-in ballots, or provisional ballots.
While some news sites indicated that 100% of precincts were reporting on Election Day, that did not mean that all votes had been counted.
Bergen County Elections Division Supervisor Sabrina Taranto confirmed this in an email to the AP saying that:
“70 of the 70 towns in Bergen County’s election day machine vote were received and counted...These totals do not reflect any other type of vote such as Vote by Mails, Provisionals, Early Voting, etc...This is the standard method followed by our office for every election.”
The claim that additional votes were “found” or that the election was stolen in Bergen County is unfounded and FALSE.
